IGLOO Consulting was founded by two UC Berkeley alumni, Michael Lee and Roman Makovitskiy, in March 2005. Mike and Roman have always been interested in helping the entrepreneurs of their communities. Their idea for Igloo Consulting was sparked by the high turn-over rate of small businesses in their San Francisco communities. |

He has a breadth of experience in the retail industry doing strategy and business development, and distribution/supply chain work. Michael has also worked as a consultant in a market research firm where he created customized research projects for a variety of Fortune 500 companies. He is experienced in inventory management, sales forecasting, qualitative and quantitative research, competitive analysis, market segmentations, attitudes and usage studies, pricing strategies, and brand extensions. Michael is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley with dual degrees in Political Science and Interdisciplinary studies with a focus in International Economics and Globalization. Michael resides in San Francisco and enjoys hiking, yoga, traveling, and politics. |
Roman has five years of consulting experience focusing on strategy and operations. His former clients include some of the world's largest healthcare companies, whom Roman assisted with product launches, financial analysis, market landscape assessment, and competitor benchmarking. Currently, Roman is pursuing a career in Mergers & Acquisitions Investment Banking.
Roman's recent projects include business plan development for a Healthcare startup seeking venture capital funding, and an established music company seeking series B financing.
Roman is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley, with a degree in Economics. He is currently pursuing an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Roman's hobbies include traveling, cooking, and basketball. |
Scott has held consulting and analytical positions in large and small retail, service, online and consumer product businesses. His accomplishments include projects in business development, marketing, inventory management, market research, product/website design and financial reporting. Scott also successfully co-founded and built an English-teaching business in Spain. Scott graduated Magna Cum Laude from the
University of California at Santa Barbara with a BA in Business Economics,
Accounting and Spanish. He also completed courses at the London School
of Economics in Business Analysis and Finance. Scott is a resident of
Santa Barbara and enjoys golfing, fly-fishing, traveling and reading. |

Winnie
is a seasoned analyst in both finance and strategy development,
working previously in the real estate finance group at Gap and currently in
the strategy group at Old Navy. She has developed expertise in location
optimization, financial modeling and analysis, database development, real
estate and inventory planning, and sales forecasting. |
Julian currently works as a strategic and business development analyst in the retail industry, where he focuses on new growth initiatives, brand management and developing strategic plans for new product rollouts. Prior to joining Old Navy, Mr. Cheng spent over two years as an investment banker in the Consumer Products sector, where he helped companies execute Initial Public Offerings, Mergers & Acquisitions and various other public and private deals to raise funds for early stage ventures. He is experienced in corporate valuation, financial modeling, competitive analysis, market segmentation, brand management, pricing strategies and retail rollouts. In his free time, Julian enjoys wake boarding, surfing, and playing tennis (he was a former professional tennis player).
Julian is a graduate of Cornell University with a BS in Hotel Administration with concentrations in Real Estate Finance and Services Marketing.

Dagmara spent two years as a financial analyst for a boutique investment bank developing skills in company valuations, financial modeling and strategic planning. Currently, as a merchandise planner for Banana Republic Jewelry, her scope includes building financial plans, purchasing and managing inventory levels, and dealing with every day turbulences of a volatile business. Her skills included proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, financial planning, and public speaking. Dagmara is a fluent speaker of Spanish and is proficient in French. In her free time, she enjoys yoga and traveling. Dagmara is a graduate of UC San Diego with a degree in Political Science. |

Christine is currently a Distribution Planner for Gap US Women, focusing her skills on retail sales analysis and inventory management. Having been at Gap for 2 -1/2 years, Christine has served as a trainer for courses on inventory management tools, including demand forecasting, as well as for the on-boarding training program for the distribution organization.
Prior to joining Gap, she has worked in real estate consulting and equity research, where she concentrated on competitive and financial market analysis, completing market studies and recommendations for clients and publishing investment theses. Christine is fluent in French. In her free time, she enjoys running and yoga.
Christine is a graduate of Stanford University with a degree in International Relations. |
Tony is an experienced strategy and transformational consultant for the Life Science industry. His experience and expertise include strategy and policy development, revenue and expense forecasting, market survey, competitive analysis, performance metric development, organizational re-structuring, and process efficiency. Tony
has an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BA from UC Berkeley in
Computer Science.
